Marble Quarry
Dragoon Mountains
Marble Quarry, Dragoon Mountains
Now for something completely different. Had your fill of old silver mines? How about an Arizona Marble Quarry in the Dragoon Mountains. It's an easy short ride from the small town of Dragoon, but you will need high clearance and again tires that will stand up to a rocky road. Take time to explore the other roads and you'll find some old mining equipment and a container used to ship an aircraft engine.
GETTING THERE:
From I-10 take exit 318 south through the town of Dragoon (turn left after crossing the RR tracks). Turn right onto Lizard Lane (N 32 01.863 W 110 0.817).
Turn left at N 32 01.149 W 110 0.820 and right at N 32 0.578 W 110 0.294. Follow the road a couple hundred yards.
